Planner’s Handbook on
Energy Efficiency and Climate Change
(Download in .pdf)
mgplanning, llc
The purpose of this document is to give the
New Hampshire planner a brief intro to energy efficiency and the municipal
role in mitigating the impacts of climate change. As planners, we often
find ourselves at the table when new inter-disciplinary programs are
introduced. This results from our familiarity and general understanding of
the fiscal, political, and social processes that form government action.
Energy efficiency and climate change matters
tap into our knowledge of economic development and environmental
conservation. Without doubt, planners can be an effective part of this
discussion as agents of change for our communities if we choose to be. This
document is for those who make that choice.
This guide presents very little new
information on climate change science or technology. Instead, it focuses on
specific actions and resources for action. The new information found here
relates to New Hampshire with a focus on the planner’s potential role and
responsibility.
